He was born in Montpellier, France, and studied medicine at the University of Montpellier.<\/p><p>Mure became interested in homeopathy after attending a lecture by Samuel Hahnemann, the founder of homeopathy, in 1831. He went on to study under some of the most prominent homeopaths of his time, including Dr. Constantine Hering in Philadelphia, and Dr. Frederick Quin in London.<\/p><p>In 1834, Mure founded the first homeopathic hospital in France, the Hospital Saint-Jacques, in Paris.
