Acts principally on kidneys, and genito-urinary tract; affects also lymphatic and mesenteric glands and female mamm\u0107. Plethoric young women with dysuria. Women with large breasts. Hepatic and renal dropsies; chronic alcoholics. Incipient and progressive cataracts.<\/p>\n

One of the remedies whose symptoms point to its employment in bladder affections, notably catarrh, acute and chronic.\u00a0Scanty urine, and loaded with ropy, muco-purulent sediment. Prostatic enlargement<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Pain in left frontal protuberance. Halo about the light. Itching of eyelids. Stabbing pain in left eye with lachrymation.<\/p>\n

Mouth.–<\/b><\/span>Toothache, worse after eating and exertion, better cool water. Pain as if tooth was being gently pulled.<\/p>\n

Urinary.–<\/b><\/span>Urging to urinate. Urine turbid, offensive, containing ropy or bloody mucus, and depositing a copious sediment. Burning and scalding during micturition, and straining afterwards.\u00a0Must strain<\/span><\/i>\u00a0before flow comes. Scanty urine. Acute prostatitis, retention, and\u00a0feeling of a ball in perineum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Cann ind<\/i><\/span>). Fluttering in region of kidney.\u00a0Sugar in urine<\/i><\/span>. Unable to urinate without standing with feet wide apart and body inclined forward.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Labia inflamed, swollen. Pain in vagina. Hot flashes. Painful\u00a0tumor of mamm\u0107<\/i><\/span>, not ulcerated, with undue secretion of milk. Rapid atrophy of breasts. Women with\u00a0very large breasts<\/i><\/span>\u00a0and tumor in the mammary gland with\u00a0sharp<\/i><\/span>\u00a0pain through it.<\/p>\n

Male.–<\/b><\/span>Smarting in urethra from neck of bladder to meatus. Gleet. Loss of prostatic fluid. Prostatic enlargement and irritation.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Scrofulous ulcers. Glandular enlargements.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Feeling of a band above left knee.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, in damp weather; from sitting on cold stones or pavements; left side.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Compare:\u00a0Chimaph maculata<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(intense gnawing hunger; burning fever; sensation of swelling in arm pits);\u00a0Uva; Ledum; Epigoea<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>Tincture, to third attenuation.<\/p>\n
