CISTUS CANADENSIS<\/span>

Sensation of coldness in various parts<\/i><\/span>. Scrofulous ophthalmia. Poisoned wounds, bites, phagedenic ulcers.\u00a0Malignant disease of the glands of the neck<\/i><\/span>. Cistus has affinity for naso-pharynx; aborts colds that center in posterior nose. Sniffling.<\/p>\n

Face.–<\/b><\/span>Itching, burning, and crusts on right zygoma. Lupus, caries; open, bleeding cancer. Tip of nose painful.<\/p>\n

Mouth.–<\/b><\/span>Scorbutic swollen gums.\u00a0Mouth feels cold<\/i><\/span>; putrid, impure breath.\u00a0Pyorrhea<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Merc cor; Caust; Staph; Kreos<\/i><\/span>).\u00a0Hurts to protrude the tongue<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Ears.–<\/b><\/span>Watery discharge; also fetid pus. Tetter on and around ears, extending to external meatus.<\/p>\n

Throat.–<\/b><\/span>Spongy feeling;\u00a0very dry<\/i><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0cold air passing over parts causes pain<\/i><\/span>. Breath, tongue, and throat feel cold. Uvula and tonsils swollen. A small, dry spot in throat; must sip water frequently. Hawking of mucus. Swelling and suppuration of glands of throat. Head drawn to one side by swellings in neck. Sore throat from inhaling the least\u00a0cold air<\/i><\/span>. Heat and itching in throat.<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Cool feeling<\/i><\/span>\u00a0in stomach before and after eating.\u00a0Cool feeling<\/i><\/span>\u00a0in whole abdomen. Desire for cheese.<\/p>\n

Stool.–<\/b><\/span>Diarrh\u0153a from coffee and fruit, thin, yellow, urgent; worse in morning.<\/p>\n

Chest.–<\/b><\/span>Coldness in chest. The neck is studded with tumors. Induration of mamm\u00e6. H\u00e6morrhage from lungs.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Sprained pain in wrist. Tips of fingers sensitive to cold. Tetter on hands. Cold feet. Syphilitic ulcers on lower limbs, with hard swelling around. White swelling.<\/p>\n

Sleep.–<\/b><\/span>Cannot sleep from coldness in throat.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Induration and inflammation of mamm\u00e6. Sensitive to cold air. Bad smelling leucorrh\u0153a.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Asthmatic after lying down (trachea feels narrow), preceded by formication.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Itching all over. Small, painful pimples; lupus.\u00a0Glands inflamed and indurated<\/i><\/span>. Mercurio-syphilitic ulcers. Skin of hands hard, thick, dry, fissured; deep cracks. Itching of swollen hands and arms; general itching which presents sleep. Hemicrania.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, slightest exposure to cold air; mental exertion, excitement.\u00a0Better<\/i><\/span>\u00a0after eating.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Antidotes:\u00a0Rhus; Sepia<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Compare:\u00a0Conium; Carbo; Calc; Arg n<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>First to thirtieth attenuation. Locally as a wash to arrest fetid discharges.<\/p>\n
