COLLINSONIA CANADENSIS<\/span>

Pelvic and portal congestion, resulting h\u00e6morrhoids and constipation, especially in females. Depressed arterial tension, general atony of muscular fiber.\u00a0Chronic nasal, gastric, and pharyngeal catarrh<\/i><\/span>, due to portal obstruction. Dropsy from cardiac disease. Pruritus in pregnancy, with piles.\u00a0Constipation of children from intestinal atony<\/i><\/span>. Said to be of special value when given before operations, for rectal diseases. Sense of weight and constriction. Venous engorgement.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Dull frontal headache; from suppressed h\u00e6morrhoids. Chronic catarrh. Yellow-coated tongue. Bitter taste (Colocy; Bry<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Rectum.–<\/b><\/span>Sensation of sharp sticks in rectum. Sense of constriction<\/i><\/span>. Vascular engorgement of rectum. Dry feces.\u00a0Most obstinate constipation<\/i><\/span>, with protruding h\u00e6morrhoids. Aching in anus and hypogastrium. Constipation during pregnancy; with membranous dysmenorrh\u0153a, following labor (Nux<\/i><\/span>). Painful bleeding piles. Dysentery, with tenesmus.\u00a0Alternate constipation and diarrh\u0153a<\/i><\/span>, and great flatulence.\u00a0Itching of anus<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Teucrium; Ratanh<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Dysmenorrh\u0153a;\u00a0pruritus of vulva<\/i><\/span>; prolapse of womb; swelling and dark redness of genitals; pain on sitting down. Membranous dysmenorrh\u0153a, with constipation. Pruritus. Cold feeling in thighs after menstruation. Sensation of swelling of labia and of clitoris.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Cough from excessive use of voice<\/i><\/span>; “minister’s sore throat”; sharp pain in larynx. Hoarseness. Harassing, dry cough.<\/p>\n

Heart.–<\/b><\/span>Palpitation; rapid but weak. Dropsy. After heart symptoms relieved, piles or menses return. Chest-pains alternate with h\u00e6morrhoids. Oppression, faintness, and dyspn\u0153a (Acon ferox<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, from the slightest mental emotion or excitement; cold.\u00a0Better<\/i><\/span>, heat.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Antidote: Nux.<\/p>\n

Compare:\u00a0Aescul; Aloes; Hamam; Lycopus; Negundo; Sulph; Nux<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>Tincture, to third attenuation. Higher potencies where there is organic heart affection.<\/p>\n
