CROCUS SATIVUS<\/span>

Is a remedy often useful in h\u0107morrhages that are black and stringy. Tingling in various parts. Chorea and hysterical affections. Frequent and extreme changes in sensations and mental conditions. Anger with violence followed by repentance,\u00a0Laughing<\/i><\/span>\u00a0mania. Drowsiness and\u00a0lassitude<\/i><\/span>; better by literary labor.<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Vacillating<\/i><\/span>; pleasant mania; sings and laughs. Happy and affectionate; then angry. Sudden changes from hilarity to melancholy. Vivid recollection from music heard (Lyc<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Throbs, pulsates, during climacteric; worse during menses.<\/p>\n

Eyes.–<\/b><\/span>Appearance as of electric sparks. Must wipe eyes as if mucus or water were in them.\u00a0Feeling in eyes as after violent weeping<\/i><\/span>. Sensation as if she had been looking through too sharp spectacles.\u00a0Eyes feel as if in smoke<\/i><\/span>. Pupils enlarged and react slowly. Lids heavy. Ciliary neuralgia, pain from eyes to top of head.\u00a0Sensation as if cold air was rushing through eye<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Fluor ac; Syph<\/i><\/span>). Asthenopia with extreme photophobia. Threatened glaucoma; embolism of arteria centralis retinal.<\/p>\n

Nose.–<\/b><\/span>Epistaxis.\u00a0Dark, stringy, clotted. Strings of dark blood<\/i><\/span>\u00a0hanging down the nose.<\/p>\n

Abdomen.–<\/b><\/span>Obstinate constipation<\/i><\/span>\u00a0due to portal stagnation. Constipation in infants. Crawling and stitches in anus.\u00a0Sensation of something alive in abdomen, stomach, etc.<\/i><\/span>, especially on left side (Calend<\/i><\/span>). Abdomen swollen, feeling of something heavy.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Threatened abortion, especially when h\u0107morrhage is\u00a0dark and stringy<\/i><\/span>. Urging of blood to genitals. Menses dark, viscid, too frequent and copious,\u00a0black and slimy<\/i><\/span>. Uterine h\u0107morrhage;\u00a0clots with long strings<\/i><\/span>; worse from least movement. Jerking pain in interior of left breast, as if drawn toward back by means of thread (Crot tig<\/i><\/span>). A bounding feeling, as if something alive in right breast.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Wheezy cough, with frothy expectoration, containing threads like fine twine; worse, lying down. Breath has offensive, sickly smell. Feeling as if the uvula is elongated in hysterical patients.<\/p>\n

Back.–<\/b><\/span>Sudden feeling of coldness in back as if cold water were thrown over him; icy-cold extremities.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Spasmodic contractions and twitchings of single set of muscles. Chorea and hysteria, with great alterations of feeling. Whole upper extremity fall asleep. Cracking in hip-joint and\u00a0knees<\/i><\/span>. Weakness in knees and legs. Pain in ankles and soles.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, lying down, hot weather, warm room, in morning, fasting, before breakfast, looking fixedly at an object.\u00a0Better<\/i><\/span>, in open air.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Antidote:\u00a0Opium; Bell.<\/i><\/span><\/p>\n

Compare:\u00a0Ipec; Trillium; Plat; China; Sabina<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>Tincture, to thirtieth attenuation.<\/p>\n
