ELAPS CORALLINUS<\/span>
\n<\/span>Coral-snake<\/b><\/p>\n

Similar to snake-poisons generally. Has very marked\u00a0black discharges. Cold things disagree<\/i><\/span>. Desire for sweetened buttermilk. Nausea and vomiting. Prostrating diarrh\u015ba of consumption. Acidity of stomach, with faint feeling. Sudden pain in stomach. Spasm of \u015bsophagus; pharynx constricted; food and liquids suddenly arrested, and then fall heavily into stomach. Spasms followed by paresis.\u00a0Cold feeling in stomach<\/i><\/span>. Fruits and ice-water lie very cold.\u00a0Right-sided paralysis<\/i><\/span>. Must have oscillatory motion. Rheumatic constitutions. Ear, nose and throat symptoms important.<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Depressed; imagines he hears someone talking; dreads to be left alone.\u00a0Fear of rain<\/i><\/span>. Can speak, but cannot understand speech. Fears apoplexy.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Violent headache, extending from forehead\u00a0to occiput<\/i><\/span>; first one eye, then the other. Pain in ears. Vertigo with tendency to fall forward. Weight and pain in forehead. Fullness in head.<\/p>\n

Eyes.–<\/b><\/span>Aversion to light; letters run together when reading. Veil before eyes. Burning in lids. Bloated around the eyes in the morning. Large red fiery spot before eyes.<\/p>\n

Ears.–<\/b><\/span>Cerumen\u00a0black<\/i><\/span>\u00a0and hard, with difficult hearing, or serous\u00a0greenish<\/i><\/span>\u00a0discharge, offensive; buzzing, and illusion of hearing. Sudden attack of nightly deafness, with roaring and crackling in ears, cracking in ears on swallowing. Intolerable itching in ear.<\/p>\n

Nose.–<\/b><\/span>Chronic nasal catarrh, with fetid odor and greenish crusts<\/i><\/span>. Oz\u0107na; yellowish-green discharge. Mucous membrane wrinkled; nostrils plugged up with dry mucus. Pains from nose to ears on swallowing.\u00a0Nostrils stopped up<\/i><\/span>. Nasal bleeding. Pain at root of nose. Eruption about nose.<\/p>\n

Throat.–<\/b><\/span>Thick, very offensive, dry, greenish-yellow crusts upon the posterior pharyngeal wall and extremely foul breath. Spasmodic contraction of\u00a0\u015bsophagus<\/i><\/span>; passage of fluids arrested.<\/p>\n

Chest.–<\/b><\/span>Coldness in chest after drinking<\/i><\/span>. H\u0107morrhage from lungs black as ink and watery; stitches\u00a0in apex of right lung<\/i><\/span>. Fainting caused by stooping. Oppression in going upstairs. Peeling off of skin from palms and fingers.\u00a0Cough<\/i><\/span>, with terrible pain through lungs. Worse right and expectoration of black blood. Sensation of a sponge in \u015bsophagus.<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Feels cold<\/i><\/span>. Sensation as if food turned like a corkscrew on swallowing; desire for sweetened buttermilk. Acidity after every mouthful.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Dysmenorrh\u015ba, with black blood. Discharge of black blood between menses. Itching of vulva and vagina.<\/p>\n

Sleep.–<\/b><\/span>Dreams about dead persons.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Glands and skin of axill\u0107 affected; itching with tetter. Tips of fingers peel off. Itching eruption in axill\u0107.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Icy cold feet. Vesicular eruptions on feet. Arms and hands swollen bluish. Knee-joints feel sprained. Pricking under the nails.<\/p>\n

Fever.–<\/b><\/span>Cold perspiration all over. Typhoid when ulcers have eaten into tissues, and black blood is discharged.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>\u00a0eating fruit; cold drinks;\u00a0wet weather<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Compare:\u00a0Kino<\/i><\/span>\u00a0from\u00a0Pterocarpus<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(H\u0107moptysis and h\u0107morrhage from intestines).\u00a0Eucalyptus rostrata<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(offensive dark discharge from right ear).\u00a0Crotalus; Alumen; Carbo; Ars; Lach<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n
