FERRUM METALLICUM<\/span>
\n<\/span>Iron<\/b><\/p>\n

Best adapted to young weakly persons, an\u0107mic and chlorotic, with pseudo-plethora, who flush easily; cold extremities;\u00a0oversensitiveness<\/i><\/span>; worse after any active effort.\u00a0Weakness<\/i><\/span>\u00a0from mere speaking or walking though looking strong.\u00a0Pallor<\/i><\/span>\u00a0of skin, mucous membranes, face, alternating with flushes. Orgasms of blood to face, chest, head, lungs, etc. Irregular distribution of blood. Pseudo-plethora. Muscles flabby and relaxed.<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Irritability.\u00a0Slight noises unbearable<\/i><\/span>. Excited from slightest opposition. Sanguine temperament.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Vertigo on seeing flowing water. Stinging headache. Ringing in ears before menses.\u00a0Hammering<\/i><\/span>, pulsating, congestive headache; pain extends to teeth, with cold extremities. Pain in\u00a0back of head<\/i><\/span>, with roaring in neck. Scalp painful. Must take down the hair.<\/p>\n

Eyes.–<\/b><\/span>Watery, dull red; photophobia; letters run together.<\/p>\n

Face.–<\/b><\/span>Fiery-red and\u00a0flushed from least pain, emotion, or exertion. Red parts become white<\/i><\/span>, bloodless and puffy.<\/p>\n

Nose.–<\/b><\/span>Mucous membrane relaxed, boggy, an\u0107mic, pale.<\/p>\n

Mouth.–<\/b><\/span>Pain in teeth; relieved by icy-cold water<\/i><\/span>. Earthy, pasty taste, like rotten eggs.<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Voracious<\/i><\/span>\u00a0appetite, or absolute loss of appetite. Loathing of sour things. Attempts to eat bring on diarrh\u015ba.\u00a0Spits up food by the mouthful<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Phos<\/i><\/span>). Eructations of food after eating, without nausea. Nausea and vomiting after eating.\u00a0Vomiting immediately after eating. Vomiting after midnight. Intolerance of eggs<\/i><\/span>. Distention and pressure in the stomach after eating. Heat and burning in stomach. Soreness of abdominal walls. Flatulent dyspepsia.<\/p>\n

Stool.–<\/b><\/span>Undigested, at night, while eating or drinking, painless. Ineffectual urging; stool hard, followed by backache or cramping pain in rectum; prolapsus recti; itching of anus, especially young children.<\/p>\n

Urine.–<\/b><\/span>Involuntary; worse daytime. Tickling in urethra extending to bladder.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Menses remit a day or two, and then return. Discharge of long pieces from uterus. Women who are weak, delicate, chlorotic, yet have a fiery-red face. Menses too early, too profuse, last too long; pale, watery. Sensitive vagina. Tendency to abortion. Prolapse of vagina.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Chest\u00a0oppressed<\/i><\/span>; breathing difficult. Surging of blood to chest. Hoarseness. Cough dry, spasmodic. H\u0107moptysis (Millefol<\/i><\/span>). With the cough pain in occiput.<\/p>\n

Heart.–<\/b><\/span>Palpitation; worse, movement. Sense of oppression. An\u0107mic murmur.\u00a0Pulse full, but soft and yielding; also, small and weak. Heart suddenly bleeds into the blood vessels<\/i><\/span>, and as suddenly draws a reflux, leaving pallor of surface.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Rheumatism of the shoulder. Dropsy after loss of vital fluids. Lumbago; better, slow walking. Pain in hip-joint, tibia, soles, and heel.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Pale; flushes readily; pits on pressure.<\/p>\n

Fever.–<\/b><\/span>General coldness of extremities; head and face hot.\u00a0Chill at<\/i><\/span>\u00a04 am. Heat in palms and soles. Profuse, debilitating sweat.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Better<\/i><\/span>, walking slowly about. Better after rising.\u00a0Worse<\/i><\/span>, while sweating; while sitting still. After cold washing and overheating.\u00a0Midnight aggravation<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Antidotes:\u00a0Ars; Hep<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Complementary.:\u00a0Chin; Alum; Hamamel<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Compare:\u00a0Rumex<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(similar in respiratory and digestive sphere and contains organic iron).<\/p>\n

Ferrum aceticum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(alkaline urine in acute diseases. Pain in right deltoid. Epistaxis; especially adapted to thin, pale, weak children who grow rapidly and are easily exhausted;\u00a0varices of the feet<\/i><\/span>; copious expectoration of greenish pus; asthma; worse, sitting still and lying; phthisis, constant cough, vomiting of food after eating, h\u0107moptysis).<\/p>\n

Ferrum arsenicum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(enlarged liver and spleen, with fever; undigested stool; albuminuria). Simple and pernicious an\u0107mia and chlorosis. Skin dry. Eczema, psoriasis, impetigo (Use 3x trituration).<\/p>\n

Ferrum bromatum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(sticky, excoriating leucorrh\u015ba; uterus heavy and prolapsed, scalp feels numb).<\/p>\n

Ferrum cyanatum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(neuroses with irritable weakness and hypersensitiveness, especially of a periodical character;\u00a0epilepsy<\/i><\/span>; cardialgia, with nausea, flatulence, constipation, alternating with diarrh\u015ba; chorea).<\/p>\n

Ferrum muriaticum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Arrested menstruation; tendency to seminal emissions or copious urination at puberty; very dark, watery stools; diphtheria; phlegmonous erysipelas; pyelitis; h\u0107moptysis of dark, clotty blood; dyspareunia; pain in\u00a0right shoulder<\/i><\/span>, right elbow, and marked tendency to cramps and round red spots on cheeks; bright crystals in urine. An\u0107mia, 3x, after meals. Tincture 1-5 drops 3 times daily for chronic interstitial nephritis).<\/p>\n

Ferrum sulphuricum<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Watery and painless stools; menorrhagia pressing, throbbing between periods with rush of blood to head. Basedow’s disease. Erethism.
