KALIUM BROMATUM<\/span>
\n<\/span>Bromide of Potash
\n(KALI BROMATUM)<\/b><\/p>\n

Like all Potash Salts, this weakens the heart and lowers temperature. Brominism is caused by it. General failure of mental power, loss of memory, melancholia, an\u00e6sthesia of the mucous membranes, especially of eyes, throat, and skin; acne; loss of sexual desire, paralysis. Leading remedy in psoriasis. Nodular form of chronic gout.\u00a0Symptoms of apoplectic attacks<\/i><\/span>, ur\u00e6mic or otherwise; somnolence and stertor, convulsions, aphasia, albuminuria. Epilepsy (with salt-free diet).<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Profound, melancholic delusion; feeling of moral deficiency; religious depression; delusions of conspiracies against him. Imagines he is singled out as an object of divine wrath. Loss of memory. Must do something-move about; gets fidgety (Tarant<\/i><\/span>). Fear of being poisoned (Hyos<\/i><\/span>). Amnesic aphasia; can pronounce any word told, but cannot speak otherwise.\u00a0Night terrors<\/i><\/span>. Horrid illusions. Active delirium.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Suicidal mania with tremulousness. Face flushed.\u00a0Numb feeling in head<\/i><\/span>. Brain-fag. Coryza with tendency to extension into throat.<\/p>\n

Throat.–<\/b><\/span>Congestion of uvula and fauces.\u00a0An\u00e6sthesia<\/i><\/span>\u00a0of fauces, pharynx, and larynx. Dysphagia, especially of liquids (Hyos<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Vomiting, with\u00a0intense thirst<\/i><\/span>, after each meal.\u00a0Persistent hiccough<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Sulph ac<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Abdomen.–<\/b><\/span>Sensation as if bowels were falling out.\u00a0Cholera infantum<\/i><\/span>, with reflex cerebral irritation, jerking and twitching of muscles. Green, watery stools with intense thirst, vomiting, eyes sunken. Prostration.\u00a0Internal coldness<\/i><\/span>\u00a0of abdomen. Diarrh\u0153a, with much blood. Green, watery stools.\u00a0Retraction<\/i><\/span>\u00a0of abdomen.<\/p>\n

Urinary.–<\/b><\/span>Sensibility of urethra diminished. Urine profuse, with thirst. Diabetes (Phos ac<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Male.–<\/b><\/span>Debility and impotence. Effects of sexual excesses, especially loss of memory, impaired co-ordination, numbness and tingling in limbs. Sexual excitement during partial slumber.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Pruritus. Ovarian neuralgia with great nervous uneasiness.\u00a0Exaggerated sexual<\/i><\/span>\u00a0desire. Cystic tumors of ovaries.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Spasmodic croup. Reflex cough during pregnancy. Dry, fatiguing, hacking cough at night.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Fidgety hands<\/i><\/span>; busy twitching of fingers. Jerking and twitching of muscles.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Acne<\/i><\/span>\u00a0of face, pustules. Itching; worse on chest, shoulders, and face. An\u00e6sthesia of skin.\u00a0Psoriasis<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Sleep.–<\/b><\/span>Restless sleep. Extreme drowsiness. Sleeplessness due to worry and grief and sexual excess. Night terrors. Grinding teeth in sleep. Horrible dreams. Somnambulism.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Better<\/i><\/span>, when occupied mentally or physically.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>A few grains of the crude salt to the third trituration. Remember the unstable character of this salt. Said to be much more active if salt is eliminated from the diet.<\/p>\n
