NATRIUM SULPHURICUM<\/span>
\n<\/span>Sulphate of Sodium-Glauber’s Salt
\n(NATRUM SULPHURICUM)<\/b><\/p>\n

A liver remedy, especially indicated for the so-called hydrogenoid constitution, where the complaints are such as are due to living in damp houses, basements, cellars. They are worse in rainy weather, water in any form.\u00a0Feels every change from dry to wet<\/i><\/span>; cannot even eat plants growing near water, nor fish. Always feels best in warm, dry air. Clinically, it has been found a valuable remedy for\u00a0spinal meningitis<\/i><\/span>, head symptoms\u00a0from injuries to head<\/i><\/span>, mental troubles therefrom. Every spring, return of skin affections. Tendency to warts. Fingers and toes affected. Chronic gout (Lycop<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Lively music saddens. Melancholy, with periodical attacks of mania. Suicidal tendency;\u00a0must exercise restraint<\/i><\/span>. Inability to think. Dislikes to speak, or to be spoken to.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Occipital pain. Piercing stitches in ears. Vertigo; relieved by sweat on head. Bursting feeling on coughing. Hot feeling on top of head. Bursting feeling on coughing. Hot feeling on top of head. Boring in right temple, preceded by burning in stomach. Ill-effects of falls and injuries to the head, and mental troubles arising therefrom. Dreams of running water.<\/p>\n

Ears.–<\/b><\/span>Sticking pain, earache, lightning-like stitches in damp weather.<\/p>\n

Nose.–<\/b><\/span>Nasal catarrh, with thick, yellow discharge and salty mucus. Coryza. Epistaxis. Ethmoiditis.<\/p>\n

Eyes.–<\/b><\/span>Conjunctiva yellow. Granular lids.\u00a0Photophobia<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Graphites<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Mouth.–<\/b><\/span>Slimy, thick, tenacious, white mucus.\u00a0Bitter taste<\/i><\/span>, blisters on palate.<\/p>\n

Throat.–<\/b><\/span>Thick, yellow mucus, drops from posterior nares.<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Vomits sour.\u00a0Brown, bitter coating on tongue<\/i><\/span>. Yellow complexion. Thirst for something cold. Bilious vomiting,\u00a0acid<\/i><\/span>\u00a0dyspepsia, with heartburn and flatulence.<\/p>\n

Abdomen.–<\/b><\/span>Duodenal catarrh; hepatitis; icterus and vomiting of bile; liver sore to touch, with sharp, stitching pains; cannot bear tight clothing around waist, worse, lying on left side.\u00a0Flatulency<\/i><\/span>; wind colic in ascending colon; worse, before breakfast. Burning in abdomen and anus. Bruised pain and urging to stool. Diarrh\u015ba yellow, watery stools.\u00a0Loose morning stools<\/i><\/span>, worse, after spell of wet weather. Stools involuntary, when passing flatus.\u00a0Great size of the fecal mass<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Urine.–<\/b><\/span>Loaded with bile. Brisk-dust sediment. Excessive secretion. Diabetes.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Nosebleed during menses, which are acrid and profuse. Burning in pharynx during menstruation. Herpetic vulvitis.\u00a0Leucorrh\u015ba<\/i><\/span>\u00a0yellowish-green,\u00a0following gonorrh\u015ba in female<\/i><\/span>. Leucorrh\u015ba with hoarseness.<\/p>\n

Male.–<\/b><\/span>Condylomata; soft, fleshy excrescences; greenish discharges. Gonorrh\u015ba; discharge thick, greenish; little pain.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Dyspn\u015ba, during damp weather.\u00a0Must hold chest when coughing<\/i><\/span>. Humid asthma; rattling in chest, at 4 and 5 am.\u00a0Cough<\/i><\/span>, with thick ropy, greenish expectoration; chest feels all gone. Constant desire to take deep, long breath.\u00a0Asthma in children<\/i><\/span>, as a constitutional remedy. Delayed resolution in pneumonia. Springs up in bed the cough hurts so; holds painful side (Bry<\/i><\/span>). Pain through\u00a0lower left chest<\/i><\/span>. Every fresh cold brings on attack of asthma.<\/p>\n

Back.–<\/b><\/span>Itching when undressing. Violent pains in back of neck,\u00a0and at base of brain<\/i><\/span>. Piercing pain between scapul\u0107. Spinal meningitis; opisthotonos.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Swelling of axillary glands. Inflammation around root of nails. Burning in soles; \u015bdema of feet; itching between toes. Gout. Pain in limbs, compels frequent change in position. Run-arounds. Pain in hip-joints, worse left, worse, stooping. Stiffness of knees, cracking of joints. Rheumatism, worse in damp cold weather.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Itching while undressing. Jaundiced, watery blisters. Sycotic excrescences; wart-like red lumps all over body.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, music (makes her sad); lying on left side; dampness of basement, damp weather.\u00a0Better<\/i><\/span>, dry weather, pressure, changing position.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Compare:\u00a0Natrum succinate<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(5 gr every 3 hours. Catarrhal jaundice).\u00a0Malaria officinalis<\/i><\/span>-decomposed vegetable matter–(Has evident power to cause the disappearance of the plasmodium of malaria. Malarial cachexia. General sense of weariness. Spleen affections. Malaria and rheumatism. Functional hepatic diseases.
