Acts especially on the respiratory organs. Dry coryza of infants, snuffles, \u015bdematous swellings.\u00a0Profuse sweat<\/i><\/span>\u00a0accompanies many affections.<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Sees images when shutting eyes.\u00a0Constant fretfulness<\/i><\/span>. Very easily frightened. Fright followed by suffocative attacks.<\/p>\n

Face.–<\/b><\/span>Turns blue with cough. Red, burning spots on cheeks. Heat and perspiration of face.<\/p>\n

Abdomen.–<\/b><\/span>Colic, with nausea and flatulence; frequent watery, slimy stools.<\/p>\n

Urine.–<\/b><\/span>Profuse urine with dry heat of skin. Frequent micturition, with scanty urine. Acute nephritis; dropsical symptoms, with vomiting.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Chest oppressed with pressure in stomach, and nausea Hoarseness with tenacious mucus in larynx. Paroxysmal,\u00a0suffocative cough, coming on about midnight<\/i><\/span>, with crying and dyspn\u015ba. Spasmodic croup. Dry coryza.\u00a0Sniffles of infants<\/i><\/span>; nose dry and obstructed. Loose choking cough. When nursing child must let go of nipple, nose blocked up, cannot breathe.\u00a0Child awakes suddenly, nearly suffocating, sits up, turns blue. Cannot expire<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(Meph<\/i><\/span>). Millar’s asthma.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Hands turn blue. \u015adematous swelling in legs, insteps, and feet. Feet icy cold. Debilitating night-sweats (Salvia; Acet ac<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Fever.–<\/b><\/span>Dry heat while sleeping.\u00a0Dreads uncovering. Profuse sweat over entire body during waking hours<\/i><\/span>. Dry, deep cough precedes the fever paroxysm.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Dry heat of skin during sleep. Bloated and swollen; general dropsy;\u00a0profuse sweat on waking<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, sleep, during rest, after eating fruit.\u00a0Better<\/i><\/span>, sitting up in bed, motion.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Compare:\u00a0Ipec; Meph; Opium; Sambucus Canadensis<\/i><\/span>\u00a0(great value in dropsies; large doses required-fluid extract, 1\/4 to 1 teaspoonful three times daily).<\/p>\n

Antidotes:\u00a0Ars; Camph<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>Tincture, to sixth potency.<\/p>\n
