SINAPIS NIGRA<\/span>
\n<\/span>Black Mustard
\n(BRASSICA NIGRA)<\/b><\/p>\n

Is of use in hay-fever, coryza, and pharyngitis. Dry nares and pharynx, with thick, lumpy secretion. Small-pox.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Scalp hot and itches.\u00a0Sweat on upper lip and forehead<\/i><\/span>. Tongue feels blistered.<\/p>\n

Nose.–<\/b><\/span>Mucus from posterior nares feels cold. Scanty,\u00a0acrid<\/i><\/span>\u00a0discharge.\u00a0Stoppage of left nostril all day<\/i><\/span>, or in afternoon and evening. Dry, hot, with lachrymation, sneezing; hacking cough; better lying down.\u00a0Nostrils alternately stopped<\/i><\/span>. Dryness of anterior nares.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Cough is relieved by lying down.<\/p>\n

Throat.–<\/b><\/span>Feels scalded, hot inflamed. Asthmatic breathing. Loud coughing-spells with barking expiration.<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Offensive breath<\/i><\/span>, smelling like onions (Asaf; Armorac<\/i><\/span>). Burning in stomach, extending up \u015bsophagus, throat, and mouth, which is full of canker sores. Hot sour eructations.\u00a0Colic; pains come on while bent forward; better, sitting up straight<\/i><\/span>. Sweat better when nausea comes on.<\/p>\n

Urinary.–<\/b><\/span>Pain in bladder, frequent\u00a0copious<\/i><\/span>\u00a0flow day and night.<\/p>\n

Back.–<\/b><\/span>Rheumatic pain in intercostal and lumbar muscles; sleeplessness from pain in back and hips.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Compare:\u00a0Sulph; Capsic; Colocy; Sinapis alba<\/i><\/span>-White Mustard–(throat symptoms marked, especially\u00a0pressure and burning, with obstruction in \u015bsophagus<\/i><\/span>; sensation of a lump in \u015bsophagus behind the Manubrium Sterni and with much eructation; similar symptoms in rectum).\u00a0Mustard oil<\/i><\/span>\u00a0by inhalation (acts on the sensory nerve endings of the trigeminal. Relieves pain in middle ear disease and in painful conditions of nose, nasal cavities, and tonsils).<\/p>\n
