Utter prostration and debility in the morning.<\/p>\n

Shifting rheumatic pains. Chronic eruptions and rheumatism.<\/p>\n

Ichthyosis. Syphilitic affections. Pains from darkness to daylight; decrease and increase gradually. Hereditary tendency to alcoholism.\u00a0Ulceration of<\/i><\/span>\u00a0mouth, nose, genitals, skin.\u00a0Succession of abscesses<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Mind.–<\/b><\/span>Loss of memory; remembers everything previous to his illness. Apathetic;\u00a0feels as if going insane or being paralyzed. Fears the night<\/i><\/span>, and the suffering from exhaustion on awakening. Hopeless;\u00a0despairs of recovery<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Head.–<\/b><\/span>Linear pains from temple across, or from eyes backward; cause sleeplessness and delirium at night.\u00a0Falling of the hair<\/i><\/span>. Pain in bones of head. Top of head feels as if coming off. Stupefying cephalalgia.<\/p>\n

Eyes.–<\/b><\/span>Chronic, recurrent, phlyctenular inflammation of cornea<\/i><\/span>; successive crops of phlyctenular and abrasions of epithelial layer of cornea; photophobia intense, lachrymation profuse. Lids swollen;\u00a0pain intense at night<\/i><\/span>; ptosis. Tubercular iritis. Diplopia; one image seen below the other. Feeling of cold air blowing on eye (Fluor ac<\/i><\/span>).<\/p>\n

Ears.–<\/b><\/span>Caries of ossicles in ear of syphilitic origin.<\/p>\n

Nose.–<\/b><\/span>Caries of nasal bones, hard palate and septum, with perforation; oz\u0107na.<\/p>\n

Mouth.–<\/b><\/span>Teeth decay at gum; edges serrated, dwarfed. Tongue coated, teeth-indented; deep longitudinal cracks. Ulcers smart and burn.\u00a0Excessive flow of saliva; it runs out of mouth when sleeping<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Stomach.–<\/b><\/span>Craves alcohol<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Rectum.–<\/b><\/span>Feels tied up with strictures. Enemas very painful. Fissures, prolapse.<\/p>\n

Extremities.–<\/b><\/span>Sciatica; worse at night; better about day-break. Rheumatism of shoulder-joint, at insertion of deltoid. Run-around. Severe pain in long bones. Redness and rawness between toes (Sil<\/i><\/span>). Rheumatism, muscles are caked in hard knot or lumps.\u00a0Always washing the hands<\/i><\/span>. Indolent ulcers. Muscles contracted in hard knots.<\/p>\n

Female.–<\/b><\/span>Ulcers on labia. Leucorrh\u015ba\u00a0profuse, thin, watery, acrid<\/i><\/span>, with sharp, knife-pain in ovaries.<\/p>\n

Respiratory.–<\/b><\/span>Aphonia; chronic asthma in summer, wheezing and rattling (Tart emet<\/i><\/span>). Cough dry, hard; worse at night; windpipe sensitive to touch (Lach<\/i><\/span>). Lancinating pains from base of heart to apex at night.<\/p>\n

Skin.–<\/b><\/span>Reddish-brown eruption, with a disagreeable odor. Extreme emaciation.<\/p>\n

Relationship.–<\/b><\/span>Compare:\u00a0Merc; Kal hyd; Nit ac; Aur; Alum<\/i><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Modalities.–<\/b><\/span>Worse<\/i><\/span>, at night, sundown to sunrise, seashore, in summer.\u00a0Better<\/i><\/span>, inland and mountains, during day, moving about slowly.<\/p>\n

Dose.–<\/b><\/span>The highest potencies only, and in infrequent doses.<\/p>\n
