NATRUM SULPHURICUM<\/span><\/h1>\n

(Sodium Sulphate)
\nNatrum Sulph appears in the intercellular fluids. It eliminates the
\nsuperfluous water formed during the retrogressive metamorphosis of the
\ncells; it removes metabolic wastes, de-toxicates the organism, and
\nstimulates the bile flow as it has good effect on the cells and the nerves
\nof bile ducts, intestines and pancreas. It increases the secretion of
\npancreatic fluid, so if diabetes mellitus is caused by a lessened secretion
\nof pancreatic juice, it is the remedy.
\nPeople with deficiency of this salt are liable to malarial affections as
\nthey are not able to remove excess water from the blood. It is therefore
\nthe chief remedy for malarial, intermittent, yellow fevers, dropsy,
\nedematous erysipelas, moist eczema, humid asthma, hydraemia, dengue,
\nspinal meningitis, uric acid diathesis.
\n\u201cNatrum Sulph takes away water from worn-out leucocytes, and thereby
\naccomplishes their disintegration. It is, therefore, the remedy for
\nleucaemia.\u201d (Boericke and Dewey) This cell-salt possesses natural
\naffinity for oxygen & water and so helps in acquiring true health.
\nThe chief characteristic of Natrum Sulph is \u201ca dirty greenish-gray or
\ngreenish-brown coating on the root of the tongue and aggravation fromlying on the left side.\u201d
\nThe patients are worse from wet weather, dampness, moisture, and better
\nin dry and warm atmosphere.
\nBesides, Natrum Sulph has proved curative in:
\n1) Mental troubles from injury to the head. The patient may be of
\nwild nature with suicidal tendency. Music aggravates ailments.
\n2) Headache on top of the head with giddiness and hot feeling.
\nThe patient strikes his head against any hard substance.
\n3) Burning of the edges of the eyelids worse in the morning and
\nnear the fire.
\n4) Ringing in the ears as of bells.
\n5) Nosebleed before and during menses. Menses profusely acrid
\nand corrosive.
\n6) Toothache better by tobacco smoke and holding cold water in
\nthe mouth although patients always feel chilly, and cannot get
\nwarm even in bed at night.
\n7) Secretions are watery and yellowish-green or green.
\n8) Loose morning stools worse in cold wet weather.
\n9) Hydrocele; itching of genitals.
\n10) Hands and feet twitch during sleep.
\n11) Crops of soft warts. (6x potency. Lotions of 3x potency
\nto be applied, also for soft swellings of erysipelas.)
\n12) Tendency to warts around eyes, scalp, face, chest, anus
\netc.
\n13) Erysipelas smooth, red, shiny, tingling.
\n14) Eczema, with watery exudations and biliousness.
\n15) All skin diseases, with exudation of yellowish water.
\n16) Pemphigus with watery vesicles all over the body, marked
\nby clusters of large flaccid blisters.
\n17) Cutting pains in the left chest and left hip.
\nPredisposition to gall bladder, liver diseases, and jaundice of
\nbilious type, frequent flatulent colic. Rheumatism with
\nbiliousness. Pains around hips & knees.
\n18) Biliousness and flatulence.
\n19) Chorea (disease of nervous system causing spasmodic
\ninvoluntary movements of face or other limbs) with constipation.
\n20) Tape worms; prolonged use expels.
\n21) Lead Colic.
\n22) Ulcerated sore throat with green vomiting and constant
\nnausea.
\n23) Low fevers.
\n24) Vomiting of pregnancy.
\n25) Kidney disorders; chronic gonorrhoea and sycosis; sandy
\ndeposits in urine; urine with excessive uric acid; sugar in urine.
\n26) It has an anti-inflammatory effect.
\n27) It stimulates the excretion of inflammatory substances.
\n28) It reduces craving for bitter foods.
\n29) It saves us from bacterial and flu-viral attacks.
\n30) It acts as a gentle cleansing remedy for all cells and helps us to
\ndefy the burden of winter.
\n31) For prolonged ulceration, even after use of antibiotics, it has
\ngiven very good results.
\n32) Syphilitic condylomata.
\n33) Sciatica when getting up from sitting or turning in bed, no relief
\nin any position.
\nBefore concluding the article, if I narrate below a clinical report in
\nasthma from exertion, it may be of interest to the readers:
\n\u201cMr C. has for years had an attack of asthmatic breathing, so marked as
\nto herald his approach at some distance, and coming on after any
\nunusual exercise. He is a tall, strong man, with no history of long
\ntrouble, albeit rather narrow-chested. Examination of the lungs during a
\nperiod of remission disclosed no lesion or abnormal sounds, except
\ncoarse rales along the larger bronchi. An especially severe attack,
\nbrought on by severe physical exertion,
\n\u201cthe worst spell\u201d he has ever
\nhad, was promptly relieved by Natr. Sulph., and occasional doses since
\nhave caused the attacks to disappear almost entirely for the first time in
