Theoretically, it is not a<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>disease. It is an abnormal condition, which if not rectified timely, may cause serious<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>consequences<\/strong>.)<br \/>\nRemedies:<br \/>\na) <strong>Kali Mur 6x<\/strong>: Loud noisy cough accompanied by wheezing rales with<br \/>\nexpectoration of thick milky white tenacious phlegm and white or grayish white<br \/>\ncoating of the tongue and persistent hoarseness. It should be given four hourly.<br \/>\nb) <strong>Ferrum Phos 6x<\/strong>: For acute short painful tickling cough without expectoration, it<br \/>\nis very useful, if given 2 hourly. One should abstain from giving it in the evening as<br \/>\nthat is its aggravation period. In case, with every cough, there is emission of urine, it<br \/>\ncures speedily. If need be, it may be alternated with Kali Mur advantageously.<br \/>\nc) <strong>Magnesia Phos 6x, hourly five doses in lukewarm water:<\/strong> It is the remedy for true<br \/>\nspasmodic cough which occurs in paroxysms without expectoration. Hot drinks give<br \/>\ntemporary relief. Tongue usually is clean. The condition is worse on lying down and<br \/>\nat night, better on sitting up and warm drinks.<br \/>\nd)<strong> Hepar Sulph 12x or 30x<\/strong>: The patient gets afflicted with hoarse croupy choking<br \/>\ncough whenever any part of the body is uncovered; loses voice and coughs when<br \/>\nexposed to dry cold wind while walking. It is worse in morning. Let it be taken 4<br \/>\nhourly for four\/five days.<br \/>\ne) <strong>Antim Tart 12x<\/strong>: Great rattling of mucus, but little expectoration is a guiding<br \/>\nsymptom. Drowsiness, debility, sweat and irresistible inclination to sleep accompany<br \/>\nthe ailment. Cough and dyspnoea better lying on right side, eructation and sitting erect.<br \/>\nThree doses may be given half hourly.<br \/>\n<strong>Suggestion<\/strong>: Grapes tone up the lungs and act as expectorants.
