{"id":26877,"date":"2023-04-14T07:14:20","date_gmt":"2023-04-14T07:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/materiamedica.net\/?p=26877"},"modified":"2023-04-14T07:14:20","modified_gmt":"2023-04-14T07:14:20","slug":"goiter-biochemic-medicine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.epostpro.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/14\/goiter-biochemic-medicine\/","title":{"rendered":"Goiter (Biochemic medicine)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Goiter<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>(Morbid enlargement of thyroid gland, often visible as a large pendulous swelling in the lower<br \/>\npart of the front of the neck, occurring commonly in people of mountainous origin; simple goiter<br \/>\nmeans iodine deficiency goiter; in exophthalmic goiter, there is bulging of eye balls.)<br \/>\nSigns &amp; symptoms:<br \/>\na) Toxic nodular goiter tends to affect elderly persons<br \/>\nb) It causes cardiovascular sign such as dysrhythmia (defective rhythm)<br \/>\nc) The goiter moves upward on swallowing<br \/>\nd) Large goiter with marked exophthalma gives an impression of terror to the face<br \/>\nRemedies:<br \/>\n1)<strong> Natrum Phos 3x<\/strong>: It is an important remedy in treatment of goiter, if the patient suffers<br \/>\nfrom acidity. It should be taken three times a day. In case, nodulated enlargement exists and<br \/>\nstony hardness of the gland is seen, Calcarea Fluor 5x should be given twice a day for a long<br \/>\nperiod, preferably in alternation with Calcarea Phos, which is the chief remedy for simple<br \/>\ngoiter and glandular swellings.<br \/>\n2) <strong>Natrum Mur 6x<\/strong>: It is very good for exophthalmic goiter, in which case it is required to<br \/>\nbe given three times a day for a long period.
