The<br \/>\nuse of alcoholic drinks should therefore be strictly abstained.)<br \/>\nPrecaution, Signs &amp; Symptoms:<br \/>\na) Routine examination of urine throws light on diseases of the kidneys<br \/>\nb) In cases of nephritis, the onset is insidious and silent. So the examination helps.<br \/>\nTreatment becomes easy.<br \/>\nc) Stones may be present in the kidneys without symptoms.<br \/>\nd) Pain commences suddenly in the back and radiates to the groin and testes.<br \/>\ne) Renal colic is severe generally.<br \/>\nRemedies:<br \/>\n<strong>Calcarea Phos 6x<\/strong>: It is useful in kidney disease with albumen in the urine. In such a situation, it<br \/>\nshould be alternated with Kali Phos 6x every two hours. A case-record from E.A. de Cailhol,<br \/>\nM.D. is worth mentioning:<br \/>\n\u201cG.S., an old man of 77, consulted me for what he called a \u201claziness of his kidneys.\u201d Urine<br \/>\nwas, in fact, very scanty and loaded with albumen. The case seemed, at first sight, to be a<br \/>\nhopeless one; he was also forgetful and quite nervous. I gave him Calc. Phos., a dose every<br \/>\ntwo hours in alternation with Kali Phos. After six weeks\u2019 treatment, urine was normal, his<br \/>\nmemory was somewhat restored, and for six months he has not complained. As to diet, I only<br \/>\nrecommended to him to eat as much asparagus as he could at his meals, and continue the use<br \/>\nof the afore-mentioned medicines.\u201d Calcarea Phos is also beneficial in violent pain at the<br \/>\nregion of kidneys when lifting any object or when blowing the nose.<br \/>\nCalcarea Sulph 12x, twice a day: In the case of intense pain in the region of kidneys, followed by a<br \/>\ngreat discharge of pus in the urine, it affects rapid and permanent recovery.
