{"id":26956,"date":"2023-04-14T11:27:23","date_gmt":"2023-04-14T11:27:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/materiamedica.net\/?p=26956"},"modified":"2023-04-14T11:27:23","modified_gmt":"2023-04-14T11:27:23","slug":"malaria","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.epostpro.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/14\/malaria\/","title":{"rendered":"Malaria"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Malaria<\/span><\/h1>\n<p>(Intermittent fever, Marsh fever, Ague)<br \/>\n(An infectious disease caused by bite of mosquito, generally recurrent, and characterized by severe<br \/>\nchill and high fever; it does not get normal till it lasts; the basic cause of the disease is an excess of<br \/>\nwater in the blood, which provides a suitable breeding ground for the plasmodium malaria.)<br \/>\nSome Signs &amp; Symptoms:<br \/>\na) Intrmittent fevers are best seen in relapses of malaria.<br \/>\nb) In tertian fevers the temperature rises every third day at approximately the same time.<br \/>\nc) In Quartan Fevers the temperature rises on the fourth day.<br \/>\nd) Malaria in children may be associated with diarrhoea.<br \/>\ne) At times Falciparum malaria may be symptomless or may present influenza like fever<br \/>\nf) There may be hepatosplenomegaly<br \/>\ng) Cerebral malaria is characterized by delirium, convulsions or coma. It is deadly.<br \/>\nh) Renal insufficiency malaria may develop oliguria &amp; ultimately anuria.<br \/>\ni) Gastrointestinal malaria causes severe vomiting, diarrhoea and jaundice.<br \/>\nj) Algid (chilly) malaria produces a shock syndrome.<br \/>\nk) Malarial haemoglobinuria causes dehydration.<br \/>\nRemedies:<br \/>\n1) <strong>Ferrum Phos 3x &amp; Natrum Sulph 3x<\/strong>, 5 celloids of each in alternation every two hours:<br \/>\nWe understand Quinine contains Ferrum Phos and Natrum Sulph, besides other redundant<br \/>\nelements, which do not correct mineral salt deficiencies. Intermittent fever or malaria<br \/>\nrequires in all stages Natrum Sulph to eliminate excess of water in the tissues, and to<br \/>\novercome bilious stools, greenish coating of the tongue, bitter vomiting. Ferrum Phos attracts<br \/>\noxygen which is essential for the cure of the disease. Ague patients must abstain from a rich<br \/>\ndiet: Eggs, milk, buttermilk, fats and fish and during chill stage, should be wrapped in<br \/>\nblankets and given hot drinks. In case fever is associated with severe throbbing headache,<br \/>\nintense thirst, aching all over body, Natrum Mur 3x should be alternated with Natrum Sulph.<br \/>\nWhen the tongue has a thick white coating, Kali Mur 3x should be given in alternation with<br \/>\nNatrum Sulph.<br \/>\n2)<strong> Arsenic Alb 30x<\/strong>,<strong> thrice daily for a few days:<\/strong> It is very effective in high fevers, septic<br \/>\nfevers, malaria, with cold sweats, great thirst &amp; restlessness. The patient drinks often but<br \/>\nlittle, and cannot bear the sight or smell of food. Fever worsens at night.
