Eyes.

Nightly agglutination of the eyes without inflammation or pain.

Violent suppuration on the eyes with discharge of fetid pus.

Lachrymation : the tears are acrid, and make the lower lids and cheeks sore.

Ears.

Roaring in the ears as from wind.

Ringing and whizzing in the ears.

Hardness of hearing (right ear) as if the ear were obstructed by cotton.

 

Nose.

Burning (as from hot coals) in the nose.

[20] Bleeding from the nose. The blood is pale.

 

Face.

Alternate paleness and redness of the face.

Bloated face.

Scaly, dry herpes in the face burning in the open air.

Red tubercles also on the forehead, stinging when touched (as in drunkards).

[25] Glandular swelling under the chin.

 

Mouth and Throat.

Stinging on the forepart of the tongue.

Offensive breath.

Sore throat with fine stinging pain, worse when not swallowing.

Sensation as from a lump in the throat, when swallowing the pain is stinging.

 

Stomach and Abdomen.

Bitter taste in the mouth.

[30] Nausea and qualmishness when spitting.

Pressure in the stomach after eating a small quantity.

Sensation of fulness in the upper part of the abdomen.

Colic every evening.

Colic as if diarrhoea would set in, from the umbilicus to the anus (with cold feet).

Stool and Anus.

Constipation ; the stool is mixed with blood.

Diarrhoea, stool mixed with mucus and blood.

 

Urinary Organs.

Frequent discharges of small quantities of urine.

Frequent micturition of large quantities of urine.

[40] Burning in the urethra, after urinating.

The stream of urine frequently stops during its flow.

Enuresis.

 

Sexual Organs.

Men. Inflammatory swelling of the penis ; the urethra is almost closed.

Increased sexual desire.

[45] Women. Menstruation too early and too profuse ; the blood is bright red.

 

Respiratory Organs.

Spasmodic, double inspiration with sobbing, as one who had cried after having become angry.

Oppressed quick breathing ; oppressed painful breathing.

Spasmodic constriction of the chest when walking and ascending.

Suffocative arrest of breathing and opisthotonos previous to coughing.

[50] Violent, hollow, racking, spasmodic cough caused by tickling in the larynx, and suffocative oppression of breathing, with expectoration after midnight and in the morning, of fetid purulent matter, frequently of bright red, foaming blood.

Fetid breath.

Tingling in the trachea (bronchitis).

Burning soreness in the chest ; soreness under the sternum.

Stitches in the chest.

[55] Suppuration of the lungs.

An eruption like varicella on the chest (and upper arms).

 

Back and Neck.

Painful stiffness of the back and loins when rising from a seat.

Pain in the loins after sitting.

Sticking in the shoulder when lifting the arms.

 

Extremities.

[60] Upper. Sticking in the shoulder-joint on lifting the arm.

Pressing pain in the shoulder and elbow-joints, worse on motion.

Rheumatic pain in the joints of the arms.

Tremor of the hands when seizing anything and when moving the hands.

Fine stinging in the hands.

[65] Itching rash on the wrist joint.

Gouty nodosities on the hand and finger-joints.

Perspiration in the palms of the hands.

Panaritium.

Lower. Laming, rheumatic pain in the hip-joint.

[70] Pressure in the region of the right hip-joint, more violent during motion.

Rheumatic pains in the hip, knee and foot-joints.

Swelling, tension and stitches in the knee.

Swelling of the feet and up to the knee.

Tremor of the knees (and hands) when sitting or walking.

[75] Hot swelling of the legs, with stinging, drawing pain.

Pain of the soles of the feet when walking, as if bruised.

The ball of the big toe feels soft, thick and painful when stepping.

Fine tearing in the toes of the (left) foot ; podagra.

 

Generalities.

Gouty, rheumatic pains in the joints, aggravated by the heat of the bed and in the evening till midnight.

Sleep.

During the day sleepiness, as from intoxication.

Sleeplessness at night, with restlessness and phantastic illusions as soon as one closes the eyes.

Fever.

Pulse full and rapid.

Chilliness, with thirst and sensation as if cold water were poured over the parts.

Coldness and want of natural heat.

Morning and forenoon predominating chilliness with thirst.

Heat without thirst more towards evening.

Burning in the hands and feet in the evening.

Heat and perspiration in alternation.

Perspiration all night, with inclination to uncover oneself.

Perspiration causes itching.

Intermittent fever. Chilliness without subsequent heat, accompanied by thirst, especially a desire for cold water.

Heat all over without thirst, on waking up the body is covered with perspiration, accompanied by itching of the whole body.

Skin.

Purple (bluish) spots over the body like petechiae.

Dry, violent itching herpes, burning in the open air.

Å’dematous swellings, also of the skin of the whole body.

Dryness of the skin and want of perspiration.

 

Conditions.

Can not bear the heat of the bed, on account of the burning and heat of the limbs.

Heat aggravates.

Motion aggravates only the pains in the joints.
