Mind and Disposition.

Anxiousness in the room, relieved in the open air.

Fearful and inclined to weep.

Disinclination to talk, prefers solitude.

 

Head.

Vertigo in the morning on rising, during dinner, going of in the open air.

[5] Stupefaction and dulness of the head.

Compressive sensation in the head, from both sides, with a hot feeling, and with beating in the forehead when pressing upon it.

Tearing and stitches in the temples, with great sensitiveness of the vertex, as if the hair were raised by pulling.

Heaviness in the head with reeling, as if one would fall down.

Sensation of numbness in the forehead the head feels dull ; worse in the morning when awaking and when lying ; better from exercise in the open air and when wrapping the head up warm.

[10] Congestion of blood to the head with painful undulation and whizzing as of boiling water on the sides upon which one rests.

 

Eyes.

Inflammation of the eyes, with violent burning and redness of the white of the eyes.

When looking into the light, lachrymation and burning of the eyes.

Nightly agglutination of the eyes.

Yellow color of the white of the eyes.

 

Ears.

[15] Pulsation in the ears.

Hardness of bearing and deafness, as if something were lying before the ear.

Itching of old herpes behind the ears.

 

Nose.

Redness and swelling of the nose.

Swelling of the wings of the nose.

[20] Sore pain and burning of the nostrils.

Scurf in the nostrils painful to the touch.

Ulcerated nostrils.

Distressing dryness of the nose.

At night the nose is obstructed.

[25] Coryza with loss of smell and taste, and discharge of yellow fetid mucus.

Discharge of acrid, corrosive water from the nose.

 

Face.

Pale, yellowish complexion.

Severe cramp pains in the bones of the face.

Eruptions on the face.

[30] Pimples on the forehead, itching in the evening.

Sensation of roughness on the inner side of the upper lip when touching it with the tongue.

Large water blisters on the margin of the vermilion border of the lower lip, itching, afterwards burning.

Chapped lips.

 

Mouth and Throat.

Toothache, almost insupportable if the food touches the teeth.

[35] Sensation as if the upper cuspidati were elongated.

Painful swelling and easy bleeding of the gums.

Dryness of the mouth and throat without thirst.

The whole inner mouth feels as if it were scalded.

The surface of the tongue feels burnt, it burns like fire.

[40] Rhagades in the tongue with violent burning.

Accumulation of water in the mouth.

Tongue coated white, early in the morning.

Dryness and roughness of the throat with hoarse voice.

Hawking up, with difficulty, of thick, tough mucus (sometimes mixed with blood).

 

Stomach and Abdomen.

[45] Hunger, but does not know for what.

Violent thirst (3 A.M.).

Increased hunger followed by nausea.

Rising of the ingesta, while walking.

Violent hiccough, during and after dinner, which causes pain in the stomach.

[50] Rising as of a ball from the stomach to the throat, relieved by eructation.

Nausea (in the morning after rising).

Nausea with faintness.

Tension, sensation of great soreness as if bruised in the abdomen, with external sensitiveness to the touch.

Throbbing in the pit of the stomach.

[55] Distended abdomen, with constipation.

Painful induration in the abdomen, especially on the right side.

Pressing pain in the liver, when walking and touching it, worse when lying on the right side.

Tearing in the abdomen.

Tingling stitches in the abdominal muscles.

[60] Colic (in the evening) in hysteric persons, extending to the thighs, followed by fluor albus.

 

Stool and Anus.

Constipation, stool hard, difficult and insufficient.

Knotty stool like sheep’s dung.

Much pressure to stool with scanty evacuations or passage of flatus only.

Diarrhoea, discharges of mucus and blood.

[65] The feces are covered with blood and mucus.

 

Urinary Organs.

Frequent desire to urinate clay and night, with charge.

The urine can only be emitted by bearing abdominal muscles.

The urine pale-yellow, followed by burning in the urethra.

Numbness in the urethra.

 

Sexual Organs.

[70] Men. Itching on the genitals and on the scrotum, extending as far as the anus.

Frequent erections ; early in the morning, with burning the penis.

After an embrace burning pain in the back.

Women. Menses too early and too profuse.

Suppressed menses.

[75] Menstrual blood black, clotted.

During menstruation paleness of the face, pain in of the back, debility.

Uterine spasms, extending into the thighs and fall fluor albus.

Leucorrhoea, especially after exercise or preceded spasms.

Scirrhous indurations on the uterus.

[80] Leucorrhoea immediately after stool.

 

Respiratory Organs.

Hoarseness, with roughness and dryness in the throat.

Hoarseness in the morning after rising.

Tingling in the larynx.

Dry cough evening and night, with burning and soreness in the chest.

[85] Spasmodic cough at night, with tingling in the larynx.

Bloody expectoration brought on by sea-bathing.

Oppression in the pit of the stomach.

Sudden heaviness on the chest with oppression of breathing (while dining).

Tension and constriction of the chest.

[90] Stitches in the heart, arresting the breath.

Palpitation of the heart while sitting, going off on motion.

Congestion of blood to the chest from bathing in the sea.

 

Back and Neck.

Pain as from bruises above and in the small of the back and both hips, with sensitiveness of the parts to touch.

Contractive, spasmodic pain in the small of the back.

[95] Stitches, tearing and burning in the small of the back.

Swelling of the glands on the neck.

 

Extremities.

Upper. Rheumatic pain in the shoulder-joint, extending down the arm to the hands, aggravated on motion.

The arms go to sleep when awaking in the morning.

Lower. Sensation of great fatigue, in the legs, even while sitting.

[100] Heaviness in the legs.

Twitching, tearing in the hips.

Restlessness and tension in the thighs.

Pressing pain in the knees.

Cramps in the calves at night.

[105] Burning of the soles of the feet (in the evening).

Foot-sweat.

Tearing stitches in the loins.

 

Generalities.

Boring and spasmodic, contractive pains.

Paralytic drawing and tearing in the limbs.

[110] Hysterical complaints and spasms.

Weakness as if it came from the stomach.

General sensation of soreness, with great sensitiveness to noise.

 

Sleep.

Sleepiness during the day with yawning.

Goes to sleep late and sleeplessness on account of nightly heat, with thirst and great restlessness of the body when closing the eyes.

[115] Shocks through the body at night while waking.

Anxious, frightful dreams, with talking and crying out during sleep.

Nightmare.

 

Fever.

Pulse accelerated, with ebullitions while sitting.

Chill in the evening from 4 to 8, even near the warm stove.

[120] Chill followed by heat in the evening till midnight.

Heat in the evening with perspiration only on the head.

Perspiration with thirst, from midnight till morning.

Morning sweat.

 

Skin.

Swelling of the glands.
